In February of 2015 I got pregnant, it was an extremely healthy pregnancy. The unthinkable happened when I woke up one morning, a day shy of 29 weeks, in complete pain. My placenta was tearing from the wall and I had no idea. I went to the hospital where they were unable to figure out the cause of my pain until it was too late.
I would need to deliver my son and find a mortuary. I wrapped my head around it and got through the next 24 hours because of the grace of my friends.
Tucker was born at a whopping 3.5 lbs, he looked so much like his older brother. Life couldn’t stop though, not for a mom with a 4.5 and 2.5 year old at home.
In dealing with this loss I decided to pump milk to donate to a family in need. I could find my silver lining in helping others.
In doing fundraising with friends we discovered cooling units that allowed babies to stay in the room with their parents after a stillbirth. I became determined to place as many as I could in various hospitals. The quest to do so will never end
